Ever since I was a child, I have loved to read. I was actually a student assistant in the library when I was in middle school. When I am not busy keeping my head in my college textbooks, I enjoy reading novels. I prefer to read sweet stories that keep a light and positive storyline so that I am uplifted and happy when escaping into these fictional worlds.
Recently, I finished reading a series of three books by Tessa Bailey. These books can be read out of order or as standalone stories, but I enjoyed reading them in their intended order. This series of romantic comedies provided a little bit of love and laughter to my life.
The first book, titled Fix Her Up, is about Georgette Castle. She works as a children’s party entertainer, much to her family’s dismay. Her family is known to have the best home renovation business in town, and they can’t believe she is clowning around–so to speak. She is determined to prove to her family that she is more than just the little sister to the Castle siblings and maybe finally find love while she is at it.
The second book, Love Her or Lose Her, follows Rosie and Dominic Vega, the perfect couple, or at least that is what everyone in town thought. The book follows Rosie and Dominic’s journey to rekindle the love in their dying marriage. Along the way, we see Rosie’s budding friendship with the Castle sisters blossom. Rosie and Dominic’s marriage boot camp of sorts is definitely difficult, and their love may or may not prevail.
The third book in the series, Tools of Engagement, follows one of the Castle sisters, Bethany. Bethany has the perfect life as the interior designer for the Castle family business, but she wants more. When she challenges her brother to a house flip-off, that ends up being filmed for TV, she realizes she is in way over her head. She begrudgingly accepts help from Wes Daniels, the new guy in town, and the only one willing to leave her brother’s team to help her. When sparks begin to fly between Wes and Bethany, she doesn’t know if she will be able to make it out of this flip-off without her life and house flip going up in flames.
I really enjoyed reading this series and would recommend these books if you are looking for a new read. I am currently reading Tweet Cute, by Emma Lord, and I am loving it! I have been describing it as a modern-day version of the 2004 movie, A Cinderella Story, with Hillary Duff and Chad Micheal Murray. Think young anonymous love story with a modern technological twist. Swap the texts and emails in A Cinderella Story, for Twitter wars and private messages in Tweet Cute! So far, Tweet Cute is great, so grab it at your local bookstore if you would like to read along with me!
Sending sunshine your way!
XOXO,
Mackenzie
